<note>This research investigates the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their speaking skills. Employing a quantitative correlational design, the study involved eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Pandeglang. Data were collected using two instruments: a vocabulary mastery test and an oral speaking test. The study aimed to examine: (1) the level of students’ vocabulary mastery, (2) the level of students’ speaking skills, and (3) the significance of the correlation between the two variables. The results show that both vocabulary mastery and speaking skills were generally at a medium level. The mean vocabulary score was 24.56, with 64% of students categorized at the medium level. Speaking skills had a mean score of 13.76, with 68% of students classified as average. The Pearson correlation coefficient was r = 0.908, with a significance level of p < 0.001, indicating a very strong and statistically significant positive correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills. These findings suggest that vocabulary mastery plays a crucial role in students’ ability to communicate orally in English.</note>
