<note>This study examines the effectiveness of the CAKE application in enhancing eighth-grade students’ speaking ability at SMP Negeri 9 Serang. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design, two groups were compared: an experimental group using the CAKE application and a control group using conventional teaching. Students completed pre-tests and post-tests assessed on fluency, accuracy, pronunciation, coherence, and interaction. Data were analyzed with SPSS 25 through normality and homogeneity tests, followed by an independent samples t-test and effect size analysis. The findings showed that the experimental group’s post-test mean score (70.53) was significantly higher than the control group’s (65.37), with a Sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05. The effect size (d = 0.8 or 79%) indicated a strong impact. These results demonstrate that the CAKE application effectively improves students’ speaking performance by offering interactive, engaging, and authentic learning experiences. Thus, CAKE can be a valuable digital tool for developing students’ speaking skills in EFL contexts.</note>
