<note>This study investigates the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in English teaching and learning and its impact on both teachers and students at SMP Negeri 4 Pasar Kemis. The research employed a qualitative case study approach, using interviews, classroom observations, and documentation as data collection methods. The data were analyzed with NVivo 12 Plus to identify major themes and visualize relationships among the findings. The analysis revealed six main themes: lesson planning, teacher as facilitator, differentiated learning, use of learning media, assessment practices, and impacts on teachers and students. The results show that teachers successfully implemented the Merdeka Curriculum through flexible lesson planning, student-centered activities, and adaptive learning strategies. Teachers acted as facilitators who guided students’ learning, while students became more active and motivated. The integration of interactive media such as videos and games increased engagement and confidence, especially in speaking activities. Assessment shifted from summative to formative, emphasizing feedback and continuous improvement. Overall, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum has positively transformed English teaching and learning at SMP Negeri 4 Pasar Kemis. It encouraged teachers to be more creative and reflective, and students to be more confident, independent, and motivated in learning English.</note>
