The Effect Running Dictation on Students’ Grammar Competence (Pre Experiment at SMPN 1 Carenang Serang-Banten)
The purpose of this study was to know whether the learning process of students using the running dictation method in English subjects for class VII students of SMPN 1 Carenang was influential and to determine grammar competence using the running dictation method for class VII students of SMPN 1 Carenang. The main problem for student is grammar, Where grammar always ignored and often done in measuring the competence of the student. Meanwhile, these student are requred to be able to understand properly and correctly. Because of this, the impotance of a mehod that can provide the best solution for student such as running dictation. This method aims to provide good memory and abel to guide students in grammar competence. This study uses a pre-experimental research type with a one group pretest posttest design model. The data collection technique used is a test. The subjects of this study were 32 students in class VII E. The results obtained showed a significant increase starting from the average pretest score (51.25) and posttest (73.125) which showed an increase in results.
