<note>This research explores the using a lot of extensive reading practices and their impact on the development of students’ reading abilities, particularly among seventh-grade students at SMPIT Al-Izzah Serang. Using a qualitative narrative inquiry approach, the study aims to understand students’ experiences, challenges, and responses during the extensive reading process. Data was gathered using the classroom observation, in depth interviews with students and an English teacher, and photo documentation and analyzed using Nvivo 12 pro software. The findings reveal that reading widely inspires pupils to interact with text more actively and independently. Students demonstrated various Reading techniques like questioning, summarizing, visualizing, predicting, and creating connections. These strategies not only supported their understanding but also helped increase their vocabulary and reading confidence. The freedom to select reading materials according to personal interest contributed significantly to students’ motivation and enjoyment of reading. Despite facing several challenges, including unfamiliar vocabulary and limited reading resources, students showed improvement in their reading habits and attitudes. The results suggest that reading widely is useful strategy for enhancing reading abilities, promoting reading fluency, and fostering a positive reading culture in the classroom.</note>
