<note>This study aims to evaluate students' recount text writing abilities before and after the application of Videoscribe media at SMPN 1 Kibin. Using a quasi-experimental method, two classes of grade IX students were divided into an experimental class that used Videoscribe and a control class that did not, with a total sample of 64 students. The instruments used were a pre-test, post-test. The results showed that the average pre-test score of the experimental class was 54.03, increasing to 70.84 in the post-test, while the control class only increased from 59.28 to 62.47. Normality and homogeneity tests showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The independent t-test results indicated a significant difference between the two groups, with a significance value (two-tailed) of 0.000. These findings suggest that the integration of videoscribe into the teaching and learning process can effectively enhance students’ recount text writing abilities, it can be concluded that videoscribe effectively improved students’ recount text writing abilities compared to conventional methods, recommending its application in teaching for enhanced learning outcomes.</note>
