The Effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning Towards Students’ Speaking Skill (An Experimental Research at Class XI of High School Nurul Falah Petir)


The aim of this research is to fine out the. The background to this research is that there are still many who are not fluent in pronunciation, have not mastered grammar, have not been able to speak engglish well and elt process is still monotonous. The type of research used is quantitative experiment. Where experimental Research is research that uses one class without a comparison class in testing a variable. Based on the table above, it can be seen that the results of students' English speaking learning in the pre test show that there are 1 students who get scores in the interval 70-73, 6 students who get scores in the interval 74-77, 5 students who get scores in the interval 78-81, 5 students who get scores in the interval 82-85, 5 students who get scores in the interval 86-89, 2 student who gets scores in the interval 90-93. With an average value of 81.67%. So, it can be concluded that there is an possitive effect of CTL towards studen’s speaking skill.
