<note>This research investigated the use of Vocabulary Self-Collection Strategy to improve students’ speaking skill. This research aims to find out to describe how the vocabulary self-collection strategy can be applied to improve students’ speaking skill at seventh grade and to determine improvement students’ speaking skill using vocabulary self-collection strategy. This research used classroom action research and mixed method. The instrument used in this research involves 32 students as sample among first grade of MTsN 1 Pandeglang as population. The research finding of the last result showed that, in cycle 1 there were 40, 62% of students got the good category, there were 59, 37% of student s got the poor category. For the minimum criteria of completeness in cycle 1 is 40, 62% who passed the score standard (77) as minimum criteria of completeness. Then were 59, 37% who did not pass minimum criteria of completeness. Meanwhile, in cycle 2, 12,5% in the very good category, 71,39% in the good category. 21,73% in the poor category. For the minimum criteria of completeness in cycle 2, 84,37% of the total pass the minimum score and 15,62% failed the score minimum. Based on the result student more motivated learning English to improve their speaking skill.</note>
