<note>This study aimed to find out the application of using scrapbook in teaching writing narrative text and to know the effectiveness of using scrapbook in teaching writing narrative text at the ninth-grade students of SMPN 1 Jiput Pandeglang. The formulated problems of this study were: 1) How is Scrapbook applied in teaching writing narrative text at nine grade student of SMP Negeri 1 Jiput? 2) How is the effectiveness of a scrapbook for teaching writing at nine grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Jiput?. This research was conducted through the quasi-experimental research method. The participants of this research consisted two classes, one class was experimental class (29 students) and another one was the control class (29 students), so the total was 58 students. To collect the data, observation, lesson plan, pre-test, treatment, and post-test were employed to the students. The result of this research showed that: The researcher applied Scrapbook in four steps: introduction to scrapbook concept and materials, material collection and scrapbook planning, scrapbook creation and initial arrangement, and completion and scrapbook presentation. The application of Scrapbook as a media to improve students’ writing narrative text at the IX-A grade (experiment class) students at SMPN 1 Jiput has significantly contributed to improving students' narrative writing skills, promoting active learning and creative expression. Furthermore, the use of Scrapbook is effective to improve student’s writing skill of narrative text. The statistical analysis reveals that the value of Sig. (2-Tailed) from post-test which has been calculated by Independent Sample T-Test is 0,003 &#60; 0,05. The mean post-test score of the experimental class (76.10) notably surpasses that of the control class (68.38). The results showed that the students who received instruction through this method achieved significantly better results in writing narrative texts, indicating the method's effectiveness in enhancing their writing narrative skill.</note>
