The Effectiveness Of Read-Aloud Strategy on Students' Reading Comprehension (A Quasi-Experimental Research at the Eight of SMP Negeri 1 Cigeulis)
This study aims to determine if the read-aloud technique improves eighth-grade students' reading ability. This study employs a quantitative, quasi-approach methodology using the control and experimental classes. Data were collected from class VIII of SMP Negri 1 Cigeulis, consisting of 20 students in each of the two classes (class VIII-B was the experimental class, and class VIII-C was the control class). Class C was designated as the control class and class B as the experimental class, after it was determined from the pre-test findings that class B had a lower total value than class C. Following three sessions of therapy, a post-test was administered, and the results showed that the effect size result for this study was 0.09. This indicates that there is a weak effect of using the read aloud strategy to improve students' reading comrehension in the eighth grade of SMP Negri 1 Cigeulis.
