The Use of Short Movie Entitled" Jack and the Beanstalk" for Enhancing Students Vocabulary (A Quasi Experimental Research at Eight Grade of MTsN 1 Serang)

This study aims to determine the effect of the movie "Jack and the Beanstalk" on improving the English vocabulary of eight grade students of MTSN 1 Serang City. This study uses a quasi-experimental method, sample involved in this study amounted to 60 students of eight grade in MTSN 1 Serang which was divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. Data analysis in this study used the t-test. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of the movie"Jack and the Beanstalk" on students' English vocabulary. Based on the data obtained, the researcher obtained an average pre-test score in the experimental class of 51.16 and an average post-test score in the experimental class of 81.83. Meanwhile, the average score of the pre-test of the control class was 41.83 and the average score of the post-test of the control class was 75.83. The researcher compared it with tt the value of to (observation) is higher than tt (t table) from significance 5% tobservation =3,63 ttable =1,67 or tobservation 3,63>1,67 and significance 1% tobservation= 3,63 ttable =2,39 or tobservation 3,63>2,39. The researcher got "to" from the calculation is higher than ttable both of significance level 5% and 1% the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted (Ho) is rejected. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of animated film media "Jack and the Beanstalk" has an effect on increasing the English vocabulary of class eight grade students of MTSN 1 Serang City.
