The Effect of Using Wordwall.Net on Students’ Vocabulary Mastery (A Quasi-Experimental Research at the Tenth Grade of One Private Vocational School at Cilegon)

This research aims to investigate the effect of using Wordwall.net website on students' vocabulary acquisition. Additionally, it explains the procedure of using Wordwall.net in teaching vocabulary. The study employs a quasi-experimental approach at the tenth graders at SMK Darus Syifa Cilegon with two classes, an experimental class (X BCT 2) and a control class (X BCT 1). The primary data collection involves pre-tests and post-tests, where students are assessed their vocabulary mastery. In addition, the observation and lesson plan as a documentation are also involved in this research to know the procedure of using Wordwall.net in teaching vocabulary. The findings of this research indicate a significant positive effect of using Wordwall.net website on students' vocabulary acquisition. The statistical analysis reveals that t0 : tt = 3.840, which is greater than the critical value of at a 5% and 1% significance level. In addition, before the implementation of Wordwall.net their average score was 62,5 and after the implementation their average score was 78,17. To use Wordwall.net for teaching vocabulary to tenth graders at SMK Darus Syifa Cilegon, the researcher ensures activities aligned with the curriculum and learning goals, creating exercises like quizzes and matching games to enhance vocabulary retention. The organized and thoughtfully selected material, along with effective lesson structuring and evaluations, enriched students' vocabulary learning through interactive experiences.
