This study aims to measure the effectiveness of project-based learning in English learning to improve the reading skills of class XI students of MAN 2 Serang. The method in this study is quasi-experimental research. The population of this study was class XI students. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class MIPA 2 as the experimental group and MIPA 1 as the control group. Each group consisted of 30 students. This study was conducted through the following stages: pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Data were obtained by performance tests. Based on the results of the test, there was an effect of the use of project-based learning with a T value of 5.66 ˃ T table 1.672, thus indicating that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The results of hypothesis testing using the T test determined that the value (sig 2-tailed) 0.00 was smaller than 0.05, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This shows that the use of project-based learning has a significant effect on the reading skills of class XI students of MAN 2 Serang with a difference of 10.50.
