Students’ Attitude Toward Blended English Learning Activities (A Mixed Method at the Second-Grade Students of Dewi Kunti-1 Junior High School Tigaraksa, Tangerang, Banten)


This research aims to investigate the students’ attitude toward blended English learning activities. The formulated of this research were: (1) How is students’ attitudes toward online English activities? (2) What are the obstacles and solutions the teacher when the process of online English learning activities at Dewi Kunti-1 Junior High School? This research was conducted through mixed method research. The research took the students of second grade (VIII) at Dewi Kunti-1 Junior High School as respondents which consists 37 students. The researcher used questionnaire and interview to collect the data. Based on the result there are 37 respondents has filled in and given the answer on questionnaire. The result found that most of the participants (91%) had positive responses about learning English while others had negative attitude (2.7%). Many of the students also feel enjoy when online English learning activities. They are always given attention when the teacher explain the material and they are collecting assignment always on time. From the finding on this study was its limited participants. The result may not be generalized although it can be applicable for all school levels. It because many school use English only as a subject and the students tend to speak in their native language (Indonesian) in daily activities. The result of interview the teacher that the teacher initiated to create enjoy and attractive learning ecosystem by giving student learning courses link, discussion and Q&A session. The result of interview students, most of students said that online learning is fun and they are didn’t have problem with the signal when online English learning takes place because they have wifi at home.
