<note>This research focuses on students problems in speaking English. The source of problems are divided into two factors, namely linguistic problem factors and psychological problem factors. The aim of this research is to find out students’ problems in speaking English faced by students at Daar el-Syifa Islamic Boarding School. The method used is qualitative, the instruments used in this research are observation, interview and documentation. participant in this research was students from Daar el-Syifa Islamic Boarding School, totaling 10 students. The result of this research reveal that there are several speaking problems faced by students in daily conversation. These are lack of vocabulary, lack of pronunciation, lack of grammar, anxiety and shyness. From this research, researchers found students’ problems in speaking, namely, 50% of students lack of vocabulary, 50% of students lack of pronunciation, 40% of students lack of grammar, 70% of students are shy, and 60% of students are anxiety. Of these problems, the problems most often experienced by students are shyness and anxiety.</note>
