<note>This research proves the effectiveness of using board game media on students' mastery of understanding and how before and after using board game media. This research uses an experimental type of research by conducting observation, pre-test, treatment, and post-test. One class is an experimental class (32 students) and the other class is a control class (32 students) from SMP Islam Da’ar El-Arqam. The research results show that; By using board games, students' vocabulary skill mastery increased from an average of 32.81 to 93.31 with a score difference of 60.5 points. There is an influence of using board games as a medium on the mastery of skills of SMP Islam Da’ar El-Arqam students. It can be seen that the t test result of 2.640 is higher than significance. The percentage of mnemonic techniques in increasing vocabulary is also high. Based on Cohen's Effect Size calculations, d = 0.96, which means that based on the Cohen's Effect Size Criteria Table, the use of board games increases students' understanding with a high criterion of 82%.</note>
