Developing Supplementary Materials to Teach Vocabulary Based On Task For Seventh Grade Junior High School (Research and Development of Seventh Grade Students’ of SMP Bina Mandiri kabupaten Serang)
The objectives of the research are getting information of students’ needs and developing supplementary materials to teach vocabulary based on task for seventh grade of junior high school at SMP Bina Mandiri in Serang=Banten. This research used Research and Development (R&D) design with adapted ADDIE development model that was simplified by the writer into five steps. To collect data, the writer used observation, unstructured interview, and questionnaire. It can be seen from the result of conclusion, which is the teacher response after used the supplementary materials is 90%, and from students’ responses is 85,2%. It indicates that the supplementary materials are very influential to increase student vocabulary. Then the second result of expert validation is 85% form material expert and 89% from media expert, it can be concluded the supplementary material has very good category and feasibility to as an additional learning material. The writer presented a revised version of the proposed supplementary material. The supplementary material includes eight units. Each unit is divided into three sections: "Come in", "Work it out", and "Do it over". Finally, the writer hopes that the designed supplementary materials will be useful to seventh grade students and teachers in teaching vocabulary learning and will inspire English teachers and other researchers to provide interesting and engaging vocabulary materials using various techniques and media.
