<note>This study aims to determine the significant effect of story completion on speaking skills of tenth grade students of SMAN 4 Cilegon. In this study there are two variables, independent variable and dependent variable, story completion technique as independent variable and speaking skill as dependent variable. This research was conducted in SMAN 4 Cilegon. The population of this research is the 10th grade students of SMAN 4 Cilegon in the academic year 2023/2024 which consists of 5 classes. The total population of this study was 158. The sample of this study amounted to 60 taken from 2 classes (each class amounted to 30 students). The sampling technique used purposive sampling recommended by the school. Furthermore, for data collection using rubrics applied to a sample of 60 students. This research methodology uses a quasi-experimental design with treatment carried out in three meetings, 3 x 45 minutes for each class. From the results of the study, it was found that Tobserve was greater than Ttabel at 5% significance (2.27 > 1.67), there was a significant influence between the two variables. So, it can be interpreted that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This it can be concluded that to improve speaking skill can use story completion technique.</note>
