xv + 49 hlm.; 18 x 25 cm The main purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the show and tell method in increasing students’ self-confidence in speaking skill and to identify how much students’ self-confidence increases in speaking skill after being taught using the show and tell method. This research is pre-experimental research which only uses one class without any comparison class. Data collection was carried out by conducting pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. The participants in this research were 30 class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Pandeglang. The results of this research indicate that using the show and tell method can increase students’ self-confidence in their speaking skills. This is proven by students’ test scores which have increased after being given treatment. In the pre-test the students’ average score was 11,56667, in the post-test the students got a score of 16.8 and in the questionnaire they got 51,16129. Show and tell is an appropriate method to use to increase students’ confidence in speaking skills.
