<note>This research aims to obtain the of using the listen – read - discuss strategy on students' reading comprehension in narrative texts of SMPN 5 Mandalawangi. The population in this study consisted of 8th grade students at SMPN 5 Mandalawangi which had a sample of 63 selected students selected using the purposive sampling method into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The method of this study is quantitative method with the design is quasi experimental research. The instrument used in this study is reading test which consist of pre-test and post-test. The research findings of this study showed that there was a significant difference in the final average value between classes and the experimental class was 75.97, while the final average value of the control class was 74.06 . The hypothesis test shows that sig. 2-tailed (p) was 1.992 with the sig.(2-tailed) was 0.325. It means the score was lower than the determined significance value of 0.05. As the results, it can be seen that 0.325 &#60; 0.05 which means that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected at the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. As the results, there is an effect of using Listen – Read – Discuss strategy on students' reading comprehension of narrative text.</note>
