An Analysis of Students' Difficulties on Public Speaking English (Case Study in Class X Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Kota Cilegon, Kecamatan Grogol, Kota Cilegon, Banten)

This study aims to describe the difficulties experienced by linguistic class 10 students at MAN 2 Cilegon in public speaking practice. This research uses case studies or direct contributions to the field or school. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of these findings indicate that 5 factors make it very difficult for students to master public speaking in English, including (1) neat clothes, (2) rhetoric that is not well-oriented, and (3) lack of confidence. Confident and easily feel nervous and anxious before giving a speech, (4) difficulty pronouncing English vocabulary, (5) sound dynamics that do not match the vibrations contained in the text of the speech. Therefore, students are expected to be able to take advantage, of abstracts and lessons that are in accordance with the themes in the speech texts that have been read and understood. Studying English more deeply so that in the future students can prepare material to be presented in front of the general public is an obligation for those who have studied it. Student personality is very important considering that other students may be better than them. Students must see and adapt to match the feedback from the audience.
