Students' Barriers to Online Learning During the Covid-19 Pandemic in Student English Department of Fifth Semester of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten


Online learning can be defined as a form technology applied in the field of education in the form a website that can be accessed anywhere. During the COVID-19 perdiod, stundents used the internet as a learning medium, in carrying out online learning each student had their own barriers. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the barriers of students to online learning during COVID-19 pandemic. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data obtained by using observation and interviews. The subjects of this research are fifth semester students majoring in English education at UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. Data were analyzed by reducing data, displaying data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that almost all participants have barriers in carrying out online learning for different reasons. They have barriers and solutions in online learning methods. All argue that face-to-face learning is more effective than online learning, this is because online learning cannot be as much as face-toface learning in its implementation. Researchers also found that online applications are also one of the most important in the online learning process, the online learning process will be easy if the applications used by students support the learning process.
