The Implementation of Describing Video in Teaching English Speaking (A Quasi-Experiment of Eleventh Grade Students at Ma Daarul Muttaqien Cadas Sepatan Tangerang-Banten 2021/2022)
This study aims to improve students' English speaking skills and
enthusiasm for learning English using the describing video method. This
research was conducted based on the main problem: how is the application of
the teaching method of describing video in practicing English speaking
students? and how does the use of the describing video teaching method
influence the improvement of students' English speaking? This research uses
quantitative methods. The sample used was 30 students of XI IPA as the
experimental class and 30 students of XI IPS Sciences as the control class.
The instruments used in this study were tests and observations. Analysis of
the research data using the t-test. The results of this study show the effect of
using the video-illustrating teaching method on improving students' English
speaking. The effect of the treatment seen from the post-test results of the
experimental and control classes averaged 55.83 > 76.66. and the effect of
this treatment was 17%, which means that the use of teaching methods
describing videos can improve students' English speaking skills and students'
enthusiasm for learning.
