<note>This research aims to analysis the types of code-mixing in Banten used by 2nd grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Kota Serang, to know the factors of students used code-mixing, to know the reasons of students used code-mixing. The mixed method research. To answer the questions, the researcher used observation, questionnaire, and interview in collecting data from forty one students 2nd grade of SMA Negeri 2 Kota Serang. The subject of this research was code mixing used by students. The results of this research that all 2nd grade students of XI MIPA 4 at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Serang used code mixing and it found the types of code mixing that used by students were morphemes, word, modifiers, phrase, clause, sentences. While the factors of students used code mixing were participation roles and relationship, situational factor, message intrinsic factor, and language attitude, dominance attitude, and security attitude factors. The reasons that cause the students used code mixing were talking about a particular topics, quoting somebody else, be emphatic about something, interjection, repetition is used for clarification, intention of clarifying the speech content for interlocutor, expressing group identity. Based on the results, it suggested for students to focus on learning English and as EFL students must used English to give great effort to master English. The students also have to improve vocabulary though using code mixing.</note>
