<note>This study is designed to determine the effect of discovery learning on reading comprehension in the eighth grade. It is conducted based on the research questions 1). How is the reading of class eight at MTs Mathlaul Anwar Bojong? 2). Is there any effect of the Discovery Learning method on students' reading comprehension? 3). Is there a factor influencing improving students' reading comprehension through discovery learning? This study examines the effectiveness of using discovery learning to improve students' reading comprehension. This study used an experimental research design, and the data was collected from 54 students in two classes (the experimental and the control classes). The pre-and post-test scores show the outcome of this study. It can be seen from the mean pre-test score in the experimental class (37,37) and the mean post-test Score (60,59). Meanwhile, the statistical calculations show that the values of to (8,28) and df (52) have a 5% (t table= 1,67) and 1% (ttable= 2,40) significance, respectively. From comparing the to and ttable, the result is to > ttable= 8,28 > 1,67 and to > ttable = 5,61 > 2,40. It means that tobservation (to) is higher than ttable (tt), so the null Hypothesis (HO) is rejected, and the alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that using discovery learning significantly affects teaching students reading Comprehension.</note>
