xiv + 104 hlm.; 18 x 25 cm The objective of the research is to measure the effectiveness of Think-Talk-Write (T-T-W) strategy to enhance students’ writing skill on descriptive text at the Eight Grade of SMP Negeri 89 Jakarta. The method is this study as quasi-experimental research. The population is grade 8 at SMP Negeri 89 Jakarta which consists of 8 classes. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII E as the experimental group and VIII H as the control group. Each group consists of 36 students. This research was conducted through the following procedures: giving a pre-test, treatment, and giving a post-test. The data obtained by performance test. The data were analyzed using the t-test formula. The results show that a significance level of 5%, t0 > tt, or 10.25 > 1.67. The results of this study are that students’ writing skill in descriptive text better than before, students become more confident in writing, students become more active and motivation to learn English increases.
