<note>This research used experimental research which aims to measure the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament method in a narrative text to improve students' reading comprehension in grade nine of SMP Negeri 10 Kota Serang. The main problem is How does teaching narrative text through Teams Games Tournament method improve the students’ reading comprehension?. To answer the previous research question, researchers collected data from 75 students as a sample from two classes. The first class is the experimental class (IX J) which consists of 38 students. While the second class is the control class (IX I) which consists of 37 students. Researcher used a quasi-experimental design that consisted of 3 stages, namely pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Then the scores of the two classes were analyzed by using the t-test. Based on the results of statistical calculations at a degree of significance of 5% that was 1.67 and the result of to = 9.13. That is, the result of the t-test showed that to &#62; tt or 9.13 &#62; 1.67. This means that t-test shows alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In other words, it can be drawn a conclusion that there is a significant effect of the use of the Teams Games Tournament method in narrative texts to improve students' reading comprehension in grade nine of SMP Negeri 10 Kota Serang.</note>
