<note>The purpose of this study is to prove the effectiveness of reading
comprehension for SMP IT Mathla'ul Anwar Global School (MAGS) using
multimodal text. Multimodal text reading strategy is a strategy of blending
learning to read using pictures/visuals that can help students easily understand
reading and is proven to provide insight into the unfolding of storylines/reading
texts that are efficient and effective. The method used in this research is
experimental research with data collection techniques using pre-test and posttest. The results shows that before the treatment the students were at a value
below the average, but after the treatment was applied the students' scores were
above the average, this can be seen in the post test scores. The process of
treating students in class using picture media is proven to provide effectiveness
that the researcher gets the value of t_observation is bigger than t_table.
t_observation =4.68 > t_table =2.45 (1%) or t_observation =4.68 > t_table
=1.69 (5%), so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. it means that there is an
effectiveness in using multimodal text which is significant to the teaching
process of students' reading comprehension.</note>
