<note>This research was motivated by an online learning system that was implemented in 
Indonesian educational institutions due to COVID-19 which was used to deliver 
material in learning which had an impact on the thesis guidance process and its 
quality. In this study, researchers analyzed the quality differences between online 
paper consulting and offline paper consulting. This study aims to determine the 
process of online paper and offline paper consulting, the quality of online paper 
consulting and the quality of offline paper consulting, and the difficulties of online 
paper consulting. This research uses a case study qualitative approach. Based on 
the research, the results obtained are: for offline paper consulting on 10 
questionnaires given to 10 alumni respondents, the overall result is 81.80% of 
alumni pleased. Meanwhile, in online paper consulting on 15 questionnaires given 
to 10 alumni, the overall result was 59.33% of alumni pleased. In the interview 
results, it was found that on average the alumni were pleased with the quality of 
offline paper consulting. While on the online paper consulting, it was found that the 
average alumni were less pleased. The results of this research and development are 
expected to be useful for all parties, especially lecturers, students and campuses.</note>
