xiv + 92 hlm.; 18 x 25 cm This study aims to develop textbooks as teaching materials in writing descriptive text based on local wisdom of Banten. The research was conducted by using research and development (R&D) methods that is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Analysis). The study was conducted in the tenth grade of senior high school at MA Nurul Huda Baros, wich involved 21 respondents. Data collection techniques used interviews and questionnaires. The validation of teaching materials is carried out by material experts and media experts. The two validation resulted in "good" qualifications. From the results of the validation of the material experts, the percentage is 78% and the results of the validation of the media experts are 80%. Textbooks in the material of writing descriptive text, get a good response from students with a presentation of 82% with "very good" qualifications. Textbooks as teaching materials in descriptive text writing materials can help students improve their ability to write descriptive text. This can be seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test scores. The pre-test score got a score of 60,19 and the post-test score got a score of 77,71, which means that the post-test score is greater than the pre-test score. Based on the results of research and development conducted, it is stated that textbook as teaching materials in writing descriptive text based on local wisdom of Banten is appropriate to be used as learning materials.
