<note>The purpose of this study is to look at the values of characters in the 2013 curriculum in English textbook students in the seventh grade with the entitled English Way by Mulyono and English On Sky by Mukarto, Wisya Kiswara, Sujatmiko and Josephine S.M. This study employs content analysis tools. Furthermore, semi-structured interviews with English instructors were undertaken to assess teacher perspectives of character education and English textbooks in their schools. Almost all character traits have been incorporated into the English textbook. The conclusion is that the textbooks used by secondary students for seventh grade are worthwhile, but in the future, more emphasis should be placed on character values in accordance with the competency criteria of graduates and current student growth.</note>
