<note>This research is motivated by the use of media in online learning during 
the pandemic. The creativity of teachers in using the media is very 
much needed. It aims to keep teaching and learning activities running 
even in a pandemic. So the purpose of this research is to find out how 
the creativity of teachers in applying media in online learning. How do 
students respond to the media used and to find out media are effective 
and efficient.
This study used qualitative research methods. Data were collected by 
interview, observation and documentation techniques. Respondents in 
this study were 2 English teachers and 10 students. The results showed 
that the English teacher at MAN 16 JAKARTA was quite creative in 
using media during online learning. Student responses to the media 
used are very good, there are only problems with the internet network. 
Media that has been frequently used include whatsapp, e-learning, 
YouTube videos, zoom meetings, power point and Microsoft word. 
Based on the theory (Ramlan: 2016) the researcher concludes that the 
categories of media that are effective include whatsapp and e-learning, 
while efficient media include videos, zoom meetings and power points.</note>
