<note>The objective of this paper is to measure about the effectiveness of using Tic Ta Toe to improve students' speaking skills. The method used in this research was the experimental method. In gathering data, the researcher used speaking test (pre-test), classroom observation, and interview. The research was conducted in seventh grade of junior high school SMPN 9 Cilegon City. The results of this study showed the mean score of the experimental class before treatment was 67.96 and after treatment mean score was increased to 77.83 which means, the tic tac toe game was effective on students' speaking skills. The value of the t-test is 3.46 while the t-table is 1.67, which means the t-test value is higher than the t-table. In conclusion, the t-test revealed that the Hₐ or alternative hypothesis, was accepted. In other words, It can be concluded that Tic Tac Toe game have a significant effect on improving students' speaking skills in the Descriptive text at the seventh grade of SMPN 9 Kota Cilegon.</note>
