<note>This study aims at finding out the strategies implemented by lecturer in teaching speaking at University during online learning and what techniques are used by lecturer. Statement of the problem in this research are (1) What were strategies used by the lecturer in teaching speaking at the State Islamic University of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten during COVID-19 Pandemic? (2) What difficulty is faced by lecturer when applying speaking teaching strategy through online learning? This research was conducted qualitatively with descriptive research by applying interview, observation, and documentation. The participants in this study were speaking lecturer and the third semester in the State Islamic University Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. Research findings indicate that lecturer apply several strategies in teaching speaking, those are presentation, peer review and discussion. Based on researcher observation and interview, the strategies used in online learning have been effective. Moreover, there are some difficulties faced by lecturer in implementing speaking strategies, there are, inhibition, nothing to say, and mother-tongue use.</note>
