<note>The study aims to describe whether the reading materials in Brilian English Book for Junior High School Students Year VIII meet the aspects of content, the aspects of presentation, the aspects of language use and readability, proposed by Book Center, Ministry of National Education. The textbook is written by Kusmana and published by Grafindo. The study is expected to provide insights into the quality of reading materials. This study is intended to be a documentary analysis in the form of descriptive qualitative research, with the outcome described in words rather than statistical calculations. The data is gathered from the reading section in the textbook. During the research analysis, forms of the checklist are used as supplementary tools of the instrument. The results showed that the reading materials in Brilian textbook meet the criteria for a qualified English textbook proposed by Book Center, Ministry of National Education. However, there are some discrepancies and a lack of reading material found in the textbook.</note>
