<note>This research aims to investigate and explain the effectiveness of the English movie &#34;Onward&#34; to improve students’ vocabulary acquisition. The population of this research was the first grade students of SMAN 1 Ciomas. There were two classes named &#34;experiment class&#34; and &#34;control class,&#34; each of which had 30 students. This research used quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental research design. The instrument used to collect data was a multiple-choice test. The tests were given as a class pre-test and post-test. Both tests were used to evaluate how much the students' vocabulary had improved before and after treatment. To see the effectiveness of the English movie &#34;Onward&#34; on students' vocabulary acquisition, the data was calculated using a T-test in the form of the Fisher formula. Based on the research analysis, the effectiveness of English movie “Onward” to improve students’ vocabulary acquisition was found in the result of to was 3,58. The value was higher than the value of tt in the significance of 5% in which 3,58&#62;2,00. In addition, the value of to that was 3,58 was also higher than the value of tt in significance of 1% in which 3,58&#62;2,66. Hence, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Furthermore, according from the results of the statistical calculation of effect size, the score is 0.18 including the medium effect. In conclusion, there is an effectiveness of English movie “Onward” to improve students’ vocabulary acquisition at the first grade students of SMAN 1 Ciomas.</note>
