A Study on Student Perception and Motivation of Online Google-Meet App on Learning English During Covid-19 Period in The First Grade at SMAN 4 Kota Serang

This research investigated about student’ perception and motivation for online Google-meet on learning English during covid-19 period. The aim of this research is to investigate how are students’ perception and motivation in using Google-meet during pandemic. In this research used one class which consists of 35 the students in the first grade at SMAN 4 Kota Serang. The use method of this research is qualitative research. In this research, the researcher used the instruments are the questionnaire and the interview to collecting the data. The research finding was presented descriptively in order to reveal the students’ perception and motivation for online Google-Meet App on Learning English during Covid-19 Period. Based on the result, the researcher found positive perception about the use of Google-Meet as media on learning English during Covid-19 period. The most of the students consider that the use of Google-Meet is effective for teaching during process learning because interaction between the students and the teacher conducted successfully, especially in pronunciation. Meanwhile, in students’ motivation about the use of Google-meet on learning English, the researcher found high motivation because the use of Google-meet in learning English during covid-19 is interesting with the features that available.
