The use of fix-up strategy in teaching students’ reading comprehension on spoof text (A Quasi Experimental Research At The Twelfth Grade Of Madrasah Aliah Turus Pandeglang)


The type of the research was quasi-experimental design with three stages of pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The main focus of this research was to find out the significant effect of the use fix-up strategy to improve students’ reading comprehension in spoof text at the third year of Madrasah Aliah Turus Pandeglang. In this research, the researcher took two classes; experimental class and control class from the four classes were 150 students’ of the third grade. There were 40 students that spared into classes, one class as experimental class which consists of 20 students’ and another one is as the control class which consists of 20 students. Based on the result statistic calculation, the researcher got mean pre-test score 42 and post-test 67,6 from experiment class. While control class the researcher got mean pre-test 43 and mean post-test 58,4. The research found that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. It can be proved according to the analysis of the data by using t-test, it was obtained that t-observation is 3,16 in which it is higher that t-table on the level of significant 5% = 0,02 and 1% = 2,71. It can be concluded that there is significant influence of The Use of Fix-up Strategy in Teaching Students’ Reading Skill at third grade of Madrasah Aliah Turus Pandeglang Islamic Boarding School.
