<note>This Research is conducted on the research questions 1). What kinds of personal pronouns error are commonly made by the students? 2). why students are difficult to distinguish between several types of personal pronouns? 3). How role play model can make good effect to student understanding about personal pronoun? The method used in this research is classroom action research. The research conducted in the first grade (VII) of SMP Muhammadiyah Tirtayasa as the object of research. The class consists of 25 students. The result of the research shows that using role play model has significant effect on students’ understanding in learning personal pronoun. It can be seen from the result that researcher has got the mean of the first cycle 70 and with the success level 76% or nineteen students from total twenty five students in class. Then, the mean from the second cycle 77.2 and with the student pass the KKM reach twenty four students from twenty five students or 80% success level. From the result of both test, it can be concluded that using role play has an effect on improving students’ understanding in learning personal pronoun. The students can analyzed how the using subjective or objective pronoun in certain condition, whether in speaking or writing.</note>
