<note>The objective of this study is to know the effectiveness of using picture on students writing of recount text at the eight grade student of MTs Ar-Ridho. The method use in this study is quantitative methode. The design of this study is quasiexperimental design to know the effectiveness of using picture on students writing of recount text. The result could be seen that using picture as media is effective and appropriate for students writing of recount text. It could be seen from the average of post-test result in experimental class is 80.47 and the average of gained score is 18.47. The average of post-test results in controlled class was 67.29 and the average of gained score was 11.70. The result of calculation showed that in the significance degree of 1% = 0,32 and 5% = 1,60 is 0.32 &#60; 1.83 &#62; 1.60. It means that t0 (t observation) was higher than tt (t table). Beased on the criteria of the test, it could be concluded that there was a progress on students writing of recount text y using pictures.</note>
