<note>The research investigates the teachers questioning strategy in classroom interaction.The purpose of this study is to investigate the teachers questioning strategy, the effect questioning strategies in English classroom interaction and the respond of students in learning English through teachers questioning strategy at SMPN 1 Carenang. The data was analysed by using descriptive qualitative method. The instruments used were classroom observation, interview and questionnaire. The participants of this research were English teacher and 30 students of SMPN 1 Carenang. The result of data analysis showed that the teachers used questioning Strategies by probing;open/closed question and factual question, that teachers often use in learning English to questions. this strategy gave big impact to the students interaction and the students can speak up in in the class and showed interest in learning process and than the questioning strategies make the students gave their best responses when the teacher asked question about the discussion in the classroom, also questions strategies make the students completed the question by gave the best answer and explanations. Based on finding of the research questioning strategies showed the positive effect and students at SMPN 1 Carenang could respond to teacher questioning strategies through teacher questioning strategy in English classroom interaction.</note>
