<note>This research investigated the students’ slip of the tongue in English speech. The purpose of this research is to explain the type of slip of the tongue produced by student and to investigate the causes of slip of the tongue produced by students. This research used descriptive qualitative design. The instrument used in this research was test (student speech) and interview. This research involves 15 students as sample among third grade of MTs Roudhotul Falakh Pandeglang year 2019 as population. The research analysis report that not all of the types of slip of the tongue are made by students in English speech. Only four out of five types of slip of the tongue found. There are anticipation, preservation, addition and omission, and other speech unit. In addition, the cause slips of the tongue are nervous, overgeneralization, false concept hypothesized, school environment, context of learning, and interlingual transfer. The result of the analysis showed that the students often experience of slip of the tongue in type of other speech unit, and nervous is the main cause of student experience in slip of the tongue. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that sleep of the tongue can occur to anyone and no matter how smart the students are. If students are not nervous when they give a speech in English it will be reduced the occurrence of slip of the tongue. Key words: English Speech, Nervous and Slip of the Tongue.</note>
