<note>Ufi Rochmahfathi. 152301775. 2019. An Analysis of Theme in Westlife’s Selected Song Lyrics. This study is aimed at analyzing the Theme used in song lyrics of Westlife’s Gravity album by using Gerot and Wignell theory. There were eight songs randomly selected as the data source of this study. The objectives of this study are to find out the types of Theme used in the song lyrics, the realization of Theme in the song lyrics, and the interpretation of the song lyrics of Westlife. The method used in this study is content analysis as the type of qualitative research. After analyzing the data of Westlife’s selected song lyrics, it can be seen that there are three types of Theme found: ideational/topical Theme; marked topical Theme or unmarked topical Theme, textual Theme; continuatives and/or conjunctive adjuncts or conjunctions, and interpersonal Theme; modal adjuncts, finite, vocatives or whelements. As a result, the researcher concluded that there are 103 topical Theme, 26 textual Theme, and 6 interpersonal Theme. The interpretation of the song lyrics in this study is based on the researcher’s point of view. Key words: theme, types of theme and song lyrics.</note>
