This study deals with Flouting Maxims of Cooperative Principle in Everything I Never Told You novel written by Celeste Ng. The data is from the characters’ utterances within conversation which flouting maxims occurred. Grice’s theory is used to conduct this study. The focuses of this study are to find out the types of flouting maxim and to find out the type of maxim is mostly flouted in Everything I Never Told You novel. This study used content analysis as a method and qualitative research as an approach. After analyzing the data, the researcher found 56 types of flouting maxims from 42 data. There are 7 flouting maxims of quality, 21 flouting maxims of quantity, 25 flouting maxims of relation, and 3 flouting maxims of manner. Maxim of relation is selected by the researcher as the maxim is mostly flouted from the charcacters’ utterances in this novel.
