<note>Winda Restu Sari, 152301865. 2019. Teaching writing Descriptive Text through Four Square (An Experimental Research at Third Grade of SMP Khairul Huda Kota Serang). The objective of this research is to identify the effectiveness of four square method in teaching writing descriptive text. This research was conducted by Quasi Experimental Research and collected the data from 44 students devided into two classes. One class of IX A as an Experimental class consists of 22 students and the other one of IX B as Control class also consists of 22 students. The instrument of this research uses Test and Observation. The research finding based on the statistic calculation, the value of t observation is higher than t table both at significance level 5% and 1% . t_0 &#62; t_t = 2,75 &#62; 2,02 at significance level 5%, t_0 &#62; t_t = 2,75 &#62; 2,69 at significance level 1%. Because t_0 is higher than t_t both at significance level 5% and 1% It means that 〖(H〗_a) is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected 〖(H〗_o). The conclusion of this research there is an effectiveness of using Four Square in teaching writing descriptive text. Keyword : writing, descriptive text and four square method.</note>
