Naf’an Tarihoran, M.Hum and  Dr. Yayu Heryatun, M.Pd.ABSTRACTThis research is aimed to explain the conditions which is requiring male and  female  to  do  the  apologies  and  to  investigate  which  one  is  more polite  both  of  them.  This  research  used  qualitative  approach  since  the data collected are in the form of human behavior. This research design was a case study since this study analyzed the human behavior of using an apology. This research taken 10  students consisting of 5 male and 5 female   students   are   chosen   with   some   criteria   and   elaborate   the participant using two types of Discourse Completion Task (DCT) such as, ‘Yes-No question of DCT’ and ‘Opened question of DCT’. This research found that male students only would do the apology in certain situation  whereas  female  students  almost  would  do  the  apology  in  all situation  based  on  the  instrument.  And  here,  without  judged  male students is non polite, female students shown if female students is more polite between male students.</note>
