ABSTRACT
    This research investigates the using of picture in teaching reading text. This research is conducted based on the main problem 1) How is the using of picture in teaching reading text?.2) How is the obstacle of the using of picture in teaching reading text?.3) How is the student’s response to the using of picture in teaching reading text?.This research aims at: 1) To know the using of picture in teaching reading text. 2) To know the obstacle of the using of picture in teaching reading text. 3) To know the student’s response to the using of picture in teaching reading text.
	To answer the question, the writer collects the data by using observation, interview, and documentation.The writer takes the second grade of Islamic Junior High School Al-Maskar Bina Insani, 20 students as a respondence, and two teacher as interviewees. 
The result of this research states that the researcher found the student’s responses of the using of picture in teaching reading text is 80%. The obstacle of the using of picture in teaching reading is the size of picture, lack of some color, and the student do not always know how to read picture. The direct method is the most appropriate method to the students.</note>
