This research oriented to the following aim: 1) The objective of the research is to find the empirical evidence of t he the effectiveness using small group discussion method in teaching reading analytical exposition text . 2) The objective of the research is to find students understanding to analytical exposition text . 3) The objective of the research is to find the effe ct small group discussion to students problem in learning analytical exposition text. The writer used experimental reseach to answer the question, he collected the data from 40 students spread in two classes, one class as experimental and another one as c ontrol class, The population is the eight grade of Smpt Daar El - Ishlah Malingping year 2017 - 2018,while class VIII A as experimental research and class VIII B as the control class are taken as the sample.
