To face globalization era, people must be able to use English both oral and written for communication in every field. But, based on the observations in schools, problems in language skills are rooted in the poor literacy of reading and writing skills. Students in general are not able to perform multiple perspective, divergent thinking and positive thinking to solve problem that they found. Based on the reasons above, the researcher wants to conduct an experimental in students reading activity in: The Effect of Critical Thinking Skill on Students Reading Comprehension (An Experimental Research at the First Grade of SMANegeri 6 Kota Serang). The research is conducted based on the main problems: 1) How is students reading comprehension?; 2) How is the effect of critical thinking skill of students reading comprehension? based on the main problems formulated above, the purpose of the research as state as follows: 1) to know the students reading comprehension, 2) to know the effect of critical thinking skill in students reading comprehension.
