An Analysis of Moral Values in The Social Network Movie

This research discusses about the moral values in "The Social Network" movie. This research is conducted on the research question:1.) What are the Moral Values Found in the “The Social Network” Movie? 2.) What is the Educational Value of“The Social Network” Movie?. The purpose of this research is to analyze the types of social values and educational values in the "The Social Network" movie and to identify the types of moral values that occur in the "The Social Network" movie. The research was conducted by applying qualitative content analysis research. The data sources are taken from the entire "The Social Network" movie and the transcript of the "The Social Network" movie which focuses on the educational values and social values. The findings of this research, in the "The Social Network" movie, found some moral values that occur. There are 4 types of social value based on the theory of Thomas Lickona such as 1)Courage,2) Responsibility, 3) Help Each Others, and 4) Never give up, and four types of educational value based on ElMubarok theory such as 1) Fair and Humanist, 2) Self-Discipline and Moderation, 3)Honesty and 4) Kind and Friendly , watching movie can give our inspiration, suggestion and motivation in our life. The value of movie can be transformed by the teacher, who can instill the habit of listening during the English learning process. The researcher hopes that after reading this research, the readers understand about moral values.
